It’s important to understand the diffs between dry skin and dehydrated skin.

Dry skin is a skin type (you’re born with it), and your skin doesn’t produce a lot of natural oil, which gives it a rough texture and it struggles to create a strong moisture-holding barrier. It becomes dehydrated, in other words, and ages prematurely.

Any skin – including oily skin - can become dehydrated. Dehydration = lack of water. That’s because the invisible skin barrier on its surface isn’t working as it should, and water is escaping.

A strong and intact barrier strong keeps our bodies protected from harmful aggressors on the outside, as it stops water escaping from within.

Dehydration causes skin that feels and looks dry, dull and lined. And it can also become reddened, irritated or inflamed. Long-term, it will long before its time.

Have we convinced you that it’s important to keep your skin hydrated and nourished?
